Wilkes University’s Sidhu School of Business Sponsors Interview and Etiquette Luncheon Dec. 1More than 130 students in Wilkes University's Jay S. Sidhu School of Business and Leadership will practice professional interviewing techniques and mastering the art of a business luncheon during a special event on Thursday, Dec. 1.
The Sidhu School’s Personal and Personal Development Program is hosting an interview experience and etiquette luncheon between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. in the ballroom of the Henry Student Center. The event offers students an opportunity to demonstrate professionalism during interviews with local businesses as a part of their personal and professional development curriculum. Each student will sit for two 15 minute interviews between 11: 05 a.m. and 11:40 a.m.
About 40 local businesses will be represented at the event and available for mock interviews with the students. Participating businesses include, Benco Dental, Kane is Able, Pepperjam, Mohegan Sun Pocono, Scranton Wilkes-Barre Railriders, Wilkes-Barre Penguins, Mondelez, UPS, Coal Creative, TEK Systems, Baker Tilly, American Heart Association, The Guard Berkshire Hathaway, Cornell Cookson.
A 10-minute networking session at 11:50 follows the interviews, followed by a noon luncheon. Abel Adekola, Dean of the Sidhu School of Business and Leadership, will deliver the keynote address.
The Personal and Professional Development Program in the Sidhu School of Business provides an environment where each student can link academic content in their curriculum with their journey through personal and professional development. The focus is to discover, explore, experience, and transition from student to professional through exposure to emotional intelligence, team building, leadership development, career preparation experiences, creation and presentation of a professional portfolio, coaching and mentoring activities, professional networking exercises, and business field experiences.
