Wilkes University Theatre Presents Twelfth Night for Shakespeare Anniversary
Wilkes University Theatre presents Twelfth Night, or What You Will, on April 14, 15, 16 at 8 p.m. and April 17 at 2 p.m. in the Dorothy Dickson Darte Center for the Performing Arts.
Marking the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death is Wilkes University Theatre’s production of the Bard’s comedy of shipwrecks, love triangles and mistaken identity. It will be directed by Jon Liebetrau, assistant professor of performing arts.
Shipwreck survivor Viola, in the guise of a man, befriends Duke Orsino and then finds herself falling in love with him. But the Duke loves Olivia, who cannot return his love as she is in mourning. Casting her sadness aside, however, Olivia is smitten with Cesario – also known as Viola. The circle is complete with pompous stewards, scheming servants, and even missing twins.
General admission is $10, $5 for students and seniors and free for all Wilkes students, faculty and staff with ID. For more information, please call the box office at 570-408-4540.
