Wilkes University Announces New Scholarships for Mesa Undergraduate Business Students

 Wilkes University has announced two new scholarships for students entering its undergraduate business programs in Mesa, Ariz. The scholarships were announced at the Phi Theta Kappa regional conference held on March 4. The scholarships are for students who have attended a two-year college.

Wilkes announced that members of Phi Theta Kappa are eligible for a $15,000 scholarship. Phi Theta Kappa is an international honors society for two-year colleges. In order to join, students must earn a 3.5 GPA or higher, have taken a minimum of 12 credits, and be enrolled in at least one credit of courses at the community college whose chapter they are joining. To be qualified for the Wilkes scholarship, members of Phi Theta Kappa must be awarded All-State Community College Academic Team status and have an associate’s degree or equivalent credits.  The scholarship is renewable for students who make adequate academic progress and are enrolled full time.

Wilkes also announced $1,000 scholarships for members of the Achieving a College Education Program (ACE). A nationally recognized program,ACE supports students with their transition from high school to community college. The Wilkes scholarship is open to students who are members of ACE with an associate’s degree earned from one of the Maricopa Community Colleges. The scholarship also is renewable for students making satisfactory academic progress who are enrolled full-time.

 Wilkes University recently announced the extension of its original Founders Scholarship. The $5,000 awards are given to qualified transfer students who are accepted and enroll in its business bachelor’s degree programs in Mesa.
