F.I.T.
Financial Independence for Tomorrow
This free, non-profit program helps individuals and families in the greater Wilkes-Barre
community to become more financially independent.
We train and mentor Wilkes University students to facilitate the F.I.T. curriculum
in various settings, including after-school programs, homeless shelters, and at Wilkes
University campus. Volunteers may choose to facilitate, but many times the volunteers
are encouraged to lend their time developing creative educational and interactive
financially themed games and activities. F.I.T. volunteers are also consulted as resources
in a variety of ways, including through work-study positions, Scholars in Service
to America volunteers, and service-learners.
