The Wisconsin native completed his undergraduate degree in Sport Management from the
University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Sam obtained his Master's degree in 2013 from the
University of Louisville, where he also completed his Ph.D. He has had tremendous
opportunities to work for the Bellarmine Athletic Department, University of Louisville
Athletic Department, PGA of America, and Churchill Downs for the Kentucky Derby while
in Kentucky. He recently completed his dissertation titled: A Qualitative Case Study
Examination of Athlete Ally using Social Movement Theory., Dr. Schmidt current specializes
