Dr. Andrew P. Miller Associate Professor of Political Science and Coordinator of International Studies at Wilkes University, has led seven groups of students abroad. These groups have traveled to Costa Rica, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. In addition to this program he also leads a student group to the Tarrazu region of Costa Rica to work with a Fair Trade coffee cooperative.
His teaching and research interests center on economic development issues in Central America, particularly the use of ecotourism as a development strategy. Dr. Miller’s most recent book, Ecotourism Development in Costa Rica: The Search for Oro Verde (Lexington Books) was published in August, 2012.
Dr Miller's next book, "Neoliberalism, Globalization and Ecotourism Development" is due to be published in Spring 2015.
