Welcome to the Office of Technology for Teaching and Learning!
The Office of Technology for Teaching and Learning (OTTL), formerly eLearning, provides support to faculty in any area related to teaching, technology, instructional design and much more. We can work with you on your face-to-face classes, online and hybrid to fully develop or just enhance your classes. We also provide professional development opportunities for faculty throughout the year and can do one-on-one meetings as well, just stop by or make an appointment with any of our instructional designers. To learn more about the variety of services and support we offer, visit the About Us page.
OTTL also provides a variety of resources including links to tools, articles, and tutorials for the various systems and platforms we support. We host various events throughout the year as well as share relevant events with other organizations. Visit these various resources and event details via the links at right.
Now Open - Call for Presenters for Teaching with Technology Week 2019!
The Office of Technology for Teaching and Learning (OTTL) is calling for presenters for our third annual Teaching With Technology Week 2019, to be held August 12-16. We are looking for a variety of presentation formats - standard presentations, panel discussions, hands-on demonstrations and more! Teaching with technology can include more topics than you might think! A few suggestions to get you started include student engagement tools and strategies, using video to enhance your classes, creating engaging synchronous session or share you have learned about using technology in your own classes. The list is endless!
We are testing a different format this year based on feedback and attendance patterns of past events. This year, we will hold two days of face-to-face workshops (Monday and Tuesday) and two days of webinars (Wednesday and Thursday) as opposed to a mixture throughout the week. Friday will be reserved for appointments and walk-ins for faculty wanting one-on-one help with their courses. We are hoping this will allow for maximum attendance and allow presenters to focus and design their presentation for the format selected. Presenters can select the day, time and format that suits them best.
Sessions can be up to 45 minutes in length and you can choose a time slot that works best for you. Submit your presentation proposals here. You must be signed in to your Wilkes account to access the form. Submission are due by May 15.
Any questions, please contact Kristine Pruett at firstname.lastname@example.org or ext. 4676.
