University Environment Initiative
Institute members Marleen Troy and Ned Fetcher used the Clean Air-Cool Planet Campus Carbon Calculator to model Wilkes University’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Emissions are reported in Metric Tons Carbon Dioxide Equivalents (MTeCO2). A detailed report is available. For comparative information go the Wilkes University report at the web site of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education.
- On an annual basis (FY 2006 – 2008), Wilkes University emitted an average of 18,222 MTeCO2.
- Emissions per full-time student for the past 3 fiscal years (FY 2006 – 2008) have been consistent at approximately 5.4 MTeCO2.
