Allied Services is a 117-bed rehabilitation hospital with an attached 365 bed skilled nursing facility.  The majority of the patients admitted to Allied come directly from acute care facilities with the appropriate diagnosis supporting aggressive physical, speech and/or occupational therapy.

Allied Rehab hospital is renowned for excellence in physical medicine and rehabilitation healthcare.  Allied rehab has the distinction of being both JCAHO and CARF accredited for its unique range of programming and expertise.  From the patient-friendly admission process through discharge and referrals for follow-up care, Allied offers distinct advantages by providing all options of rehabilitation under one roof.  A patient receives treatment that’s targeted to his or her needs at any point in the continuum of care.  The team of skilled professionals works closely with patients, families, and referring physicians to help each patient attain the highest level of independence.

The practice is primarily geriatric based demographically.  Clinical privileges must be approved by the medical staff, but will include approval for writing medication orders and laboratory assessments.  Common consults are requests for pain management, diabetes care and management of polypharmacy.  After assessing the patient, a formal written consult is dictated and placed in the patient chart.

The resident will be responsible for providing care to patients on a variety of illnesses, serving as a drug information specialist for other healthcare providers, provide educational inservices to physicians, nurses, and physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and pharmacists, and participate in administrative functions of the hospital including but not limited to participation in the hospital P+T, Pain Management, and Formulary committees.  Other opportunities exist including writing in newsletters, and involvement in home visits.
