Employee Benefits

Eligible full-time employees at Wilkes University are provided a wide range of benefits.

A number of the programs (such as Social Security, workers' compensation, state disability, and unemployment insurance) cover all employees in the manner prescribed by law.

Wilkes University also provides a Flexible Benefits Plan which offers full time employees choices on health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, term life insurance, flexible spending accounts and accidental death and dismemberment insurance. Employees can make elections and/or changes on an annual basis during designated open enrollment periods or during certain circumstances called “life events”.

A variety of factors, including employee classification determine employees’ benefit eligibility. The Human Resources Department can identify the programs for which you are eligible. Details of many of these programs can be found elsewhere in the employee policies manual.

Some benefit programs require employee contributions. Others are fully paid by Wilkes University. Employees may contact the Human Resources Department for additional information or refer to the policies index for specific benefit policies.
