Munson Fieldhouse

Munson Fieldhouse is one of the best-equipped facilities in the Middle Atlantic Conference. Included in the facility is a weight room, training room, locker facilities and several conference rooms.

The fieldhouse is at the hub of our baseball, softball, soccer, football, field hockey, lacrosse and tennis facilities.

This is the home to Wilkes Athletics

  • If you were at Wilkes in the mid 1960s you might have reaped the benefit of our newly expanded athletic facilites.
  • In 1960 and 1963, Wilkes purchased land, which ran between the Connecting Railroad and Kirby Park, and across Northampton Street from the current baseball field, from the Glen Alden Corporation.
  • Mine buildings that stood on the property were converted into a fieldhouse and locker rooms. A football field with stands, a soccer field, and tennis courts were then added. The new althletic complex opened in the fall of 1965, and was named Ralston Field, in honor of George Ralston, a former football coach, Dean of Students, and the "father of Wilkes Athletics."
  • In the late 1980s, the Munson Fieldhouse was added to the Ralston Field complex and was dedicated to the memory of J. Donald Munson and his wife Marion.
