Ceramics Studio Move

Our Ceramics Studio moved from the basement of Stark Learning Center (with its kiln) to the renovated Bedford Hall garage on March 10, 2006.  The relocation provides an opportunity to design and construct more suitable and supportive space for the studio. The renovation work included:

  • Addition of 880 square foot to the garage
  • A kiln room
  • A throwing area
  • A clay preparation area
  • Installation of a HVAC system
  • A student-project display area

This project began the development of our campus arts district, as identified in the University's Master Plan.

The Kiwanis Wheel Chair Club that had occupied the garage since the 1960s was relocated to the Suppport Operations Building on South Main Street.
