Biography
Sara Pisarchick is an assistant professor of design in the Integrative Media and Art department at Wilkes University. She holds a BFA in design from Kutztown University, an MFA in design from Boston University, and is currently pursuing the Ed.D. at Wilkes. Ms. Pisarchick comes to Wilkes University with experience as a professional designer in in-house and client-based advertising and design studios, in addition to owning her own studio. Her most recent position in the field was as Art Director for Motor trend auto shows. With a background in fine art and photography, Sara paints in the acrylic and watercolor mediums and teaches an introduction to art class at Wilkes University. The majority of her classes, however, are technology-centered with an emphasis on digital photography, web, and graphic design. She has co-authored an advertising and design text book for MAVCC and authored a graduate online class for the Graduate Education department at Wilkes. Sara was a recipient of the Boston Software Council Design Award for animation and design and was nominated to the Multi-State Academic and Vocational Curriculum Consortium Committee by the Pennsylvania Department of Higher Education. In addition, her professional experience includes freelance graphic design and instructional design consultations for national and international online education companies.
