The Office of Multicultural Affairs works with the entire campus community as well as the local community to broaden the understanding and appreciation of multiculturalism.
What Does Diversity Have to do with YOU?
If you come to school eager to learn new things and try new experiences, you have the attitude necessary to adopt multiculturalism as a way of life. There is a strong belief on this campus that appreciating differences makes us stronger and opens up a world of wonderful options. On a very practical note, learning about other cultures will give you the skills you'll need to survive in the global marketplace. Getting comfortable with diversity is a process you can enjoy! To assist you in your efforts to build your multicultural skills, Wilkes has created the Office of Multicultural Affairs.
The office...
was designed to serve as a resource center for students of all backgrounds.
Small but active, the office is staffed with a full-time coordinator. As a member of the Student Affairs administrative staff, the Coordinator of Multicultural Affairs is trained to offer you useful cross-cultural information, to provide support and advocacy for students, to help students connect with multicultural community groups, and to assist with anyone's cultural development. The coordinator also advises the Multicultural Student Coalition and coordinates with the MSC in the planning of multicultural programs and projects for our community.
At Wilkes, we embrace difference because that’s what gives color to our world.
