Students in our ABET accredited program work one-on-one with expert faculty in cutting-edge fields such as surgical robotics, haptic technology, nanotechnology and microfluidics. Environmental engineers use actual field equipment as they gain real -world experience in areas such as natural gas exploration and monitoring, lead abatement , flood control and air and water quality.
Our engineering faculty are active teachers who work closely
with students in classrooms and laboratories; labs are not taught by graduate student teaching assistants. Our Cooperative Learning Program places juniors with companies such as Cornell Ironworks, Galaxy Brush, Quadrant Plastics, Pulverman, Tobyhanna Army Depot , Borton-Lawson, Gentex, Sanofi Pasteur, Lockheed Martin, LSI , Fairchild Semiconductor and Keystone Automation.
And senior capstones let teams tackle real corporate challenges as you design and produce solutions in business-sponsored projects. It’s not unusual for these experiences to lead to job offers. Environmental engineering students’ internships have included projects such as emergency spray pond sediment removal at the PPL Susquehanna Steam Electric Power Station, and phosphorous reduction in waste discharge at Janssen Biotech.
