Prospective Students

Interested undergraduate or Intensive English applicants checklist

These documents need to be submitted in order to have a completed application
packet.

  1. Complete an online application or fill out a paper application
  2. Submit official transcripts from a secondary school and/or university
  3. Submit a copy or scan of the passport (photo Identification page)
  4. If the student is already in the US, a copy or scan of the visa, I-94, and I-20
  5. Certified translations of all documents into English, if applicable WES or ECE evaluations of the transcripts from that institution
  6. Evidence of financial support (financial guarantee, bank statements, salary certificates, etc.)
  7. Sponsor affidavit for finances for room and board
  8. Evidence of English proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS or English as language of instruction in home country)

According to University Guidelines you will need to turn in a Health Form and have health insurance while attending Wilkes University. Before arrival in the US please have this form completed and turn it in to ISS at orientation or to the Health Services office at Wilkes University. You will receive this form with your acceptance letter; you can also download the form here: Health & Physical Form


When arriving at Wilkes you will need to attend the MANDATORY orientation. Here you should bring with you:

  • Your copy of I-20
  • I-94 admission number (print out) retrieved from the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol Website. For more information click here
  • Passport
  • U.S. Visa
  • Health Insurance (If you have it, if not you will be required to get the school’s)
  • Health Form
  • Financial Guarantee (if applicable)
