Wilkes University's Accounting alumni are an accomplished, interesting, and driven group of professionals. They can be found in public accounting firms ranging in size from those of intimate agencies to international organizations. Many who began their careers in public accounting have since moved into leadership positions with government or private industry, while many have capitalized on their entrepreneurial spirit and opened their own practices.
- Jason Brocious ’00
- Jason earned his Master of Science in Accountancy degree from Bentley College's McCallum Graduate School of Business, where he served as a graduate assistant coauthoring a publication in the International Journal of Accounting Information Systems. At the time, he was the only student to be waived from Bentley's Professional Accounting Research and Policy Formulation course because of the quality of his Wilkes education. Jason then began his career as an accountant with Padden, Guerrini and Associates, PC of Camp Hill, PA where he attained his CPA license, achieving exam scores placing him among the top ten individuals statewide. He is currently employed by Providence Community Services, Inc. in Pottsville, PA as their accounting manager. Jason also has a small tax practice and serves as the assistant treasurer at his church.
- George Pawlush ’98
- George Pawlush was a cum laude graduate of Wilkes who earned a BS degree in Accounting and a minor in Business Management. He currently serves as assistant vice president and controller for High Yield Products at Wachovia in Charlotte, NC. Additionally, he holds a CPA license in Connecticut and earned his M.S. in Finance from Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut. George also worked at Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc., Hartford, CT and KPMG, LLP, Stamford, CT. As a student at Wilkes, he co-chaired the VITA program and was treasurer of the Business & Accounting Club.
- Regina Tarone ’98
- As a Wilkes student, Regina interned with the national accounting firm Deloitte & Touche and, before she graduated, accepted a full-time position with the accounting giant. While employed, Regina sat for the PA CPA Exam and earned a medal for her scores: 94% on auditing, 92% on law, and 99% on financial accounting and reporting. She left the firm to earn a master’s degree in Finance from the University of Maryland and is currently employed in the Consumer/Retail Industry Group of Lehman Brothers, a global investment bank.
