Norris Church Mailer

Norris Church Mailer -- (Advisory Board Member), Novelist, Memoirist - Norris Church Mailer was raised a strict Freewill Baptist in Arkansas, was a divorced high school teacher with aspirations to teach art in college and the mother of a three-year-old song when she met Norman Mailer through a series of flukes. She moved to New York, worked as a model and became part of the literary and social scenes in the 1970s and 1980s. She was the sixth and last wife of Norman Mailer and was with him for 33 years. In the meantime, she wrote two novels, WINDCHILL SUMMER and CHEAP DIAMONDS, and eight screenplays and had nine one-woman shows of her paintings. She has also acted in numerous plays, television shows and movies. Her memoir, A TICKET TO THE CIRCUS, was published by Random House in 2010. In 2005, her husband founded a scholarship in her name for a student with talent and need in the Wilkes University M.A./M.F.A. program.
