Toi Derricotte – (Advisory Board Member) Poet, Nonfiction Writer. Toi Derricotte is currently a professor of English at the University of Pittsburgh. Her books of poetry include: TENDER, which won the 1998 Paterson Poetry Prize, CAPTIVITY, NATURAL BIRTH and THE EMPRESS OF THE DEATH HOUSE. She is also the author of a literary memoir, THE BLACK NOTEBOOKS, winner of the 1998 Annisfield-Wolf Award for Non-fiction. She also co-founded Cave Canem, a summer workshop for African American poets.
