"It helps to know you have support between your peers."
Student name: Michael Klimek
Major: Integrative Media
Minor: Art, Communications
Activities On and Off Campus: Design Editor of The Beacon, Underclassman Coordinator of Studio 20
Career Aspirations: In the long term, I'd like to be a film director and work in the film industry. In the short term, I'd like to get get more practice in special effects editing.
Most Worthwhile Leadership Experience: Becoming an Eagle Scout. Going through that and attaining the rank has taught me very basic values of life. Being responsible, being courteous, ect…they are all there for you to reference and makes sure you’re on the right track. That’s the corner stone of everything; you can just go back to it.
Best thing about being a student at Wilkes University: I think if I didn’t go here and didn’t have the resources I have, as well as the willingness of the faculty, the opportunity to create a movie production wouldn’t have presented itself. When the bar is being set for you before it takes flight and people are more than encouraging, it helps.
The IM Major thrives on interactivity. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been asked to look at a mock, see what I think. It helps to know you have support between your peers.
Why Wilkes: I liked it because it was close to home. When I was looking for colleges, the IM major flourished. It allowed me to stay close to home and work get the degree I was interested in.
