Hon. A. Richard Caputo

Judge, United States District Court, Middle District of Pennsylvania, Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

Judge Caputo served in the Judge Advocate General’s Department of the United States Air Force from 1964 to 1967. Thereafter, he entered the practice of law with the firm of Shea & Shea in Wilkes-Barre, and became active as a trial lawyer in commercial matters specializing in multiemployer pension plan and construction litigation. Judge Caputo also served as a Luzerne County public defender. He was appointed to the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania by President Clinton in 1997. Judge Caputo is a graduate of Brown University and the University of Pennsylvania School of Law.
