you might have wondered how your South River Street became part of Lakeside Apartments. The double-block style building, and its neighbors 321, 339, and 360 & 362, once made up a group of private apartments owned by "Lakeside" Realty. In 1999, Wilkes acquired these buildings, converted them into apartment-style dorms, and opened them for the fall semester. We're not sure how the realty company got its name! According to a plaque...
on the front of this building, it was constructed circa 1890.
