Newspaper Contest Submission Guidelines and Rules

Wilkes University is proud to offer the Tom Bigler Newspaper Competition in conjunction with our annual conference to be held April 11, 2008. Our goal is to recognize outstanding writing, photography, and design/layout among high school journalists.

Each entrant must attach a fully completed form (below) along with two (2) copies of the two best issues of the school year 2006-07 for consideration in the Overall category.

For individual categories in writing and photography, we ask for two copies of the clip you wish to be considered. The clip should include the date of publication and specify which category in which to consider the entry. Each school may submit no more than two individual entries per category. Quality photocopies are acceptable. Please affix individual entries neatly to an 8 ½ x 11 piece of paper. If the story is long, neatly fold the entry to fit.

All winners will receive special certificates of merit and be asked to pose for promotional photographs following the award ceremonies.

Please provide the following information for each entry. This form may be copied.
