MUSIC

Introduction to Guitar
Ages: 16-Adult 
Schedule: February 19th-April 8th, Wednesday 7:30 to 8:30 pm
Tuition: $145
Instructor: Jared Zarnowski
Learn the basics of guitar in a low-stress class setting. Introduction to Guitar will group students of similar ages and musical backgrounds into a single class where they can learn the fundamentals of the guitar and have fun at the same time. Students will learn guitar technique, music reading, and basic chords, as well as songs chosen by the students with the guidance of the instructor. The purpose of this class is for inquiring students to gain an overview in a group setting that may help them decide whether a dedicated commitment to private instruction should be pursued. 

Basic Music Theory
Ages: 14-Adult
Schedule: March 2nd- April 27th, Tuesday 7:00 to 8:00 pm

Ever feel shy about auditioning for a musical or joining an ensemble because you cannot follow music? Ever wish you could sit down and write a simple song, but don’t know where to start? If so, then this course is for you! Using a variety of exercises, this interactive class will introduce fundamental concepts essential to reading music, including note names, rhythms, and musical terms. Further exploration may include time signatures, meters, key signatures, the structure of basic chords (major, minor, etc.), and beginning ear training. This course is for students who would find increased music literacy helpful during their private lessons or ensemble rehearsals.   50% discount if currently enrolled in our private lessons.

DANCE 

ArgentineTango
Ages: 16-Adult 
Schedule: March 6th-April 10th, Thursday 7:30 to 8:30 pm
Tuition: $115
Argentine Tango originated in Buenos Aires in the late 1800s, sprouting from an earlier dance form known as the “milonga” and the much wilder "candombe" form, of African origin. Argentine Tango is driven by emotion and embellishment.  The dance is a display of beauty and passion incorporating intricate footwork and delicate changes of direction with a seductive interaction between partners. This class is an introduction including correct embrace, basic steps, how to lead and follow, improvisation by combining steps, and proper dance etiquette.  Singles welcome.

 THEATRE and MUSICAL THEATRE

The Actor Within
Age: Adult
Schedule: March 5th- April 16th, Wednesday 7:30 to 8:30 pm
Tuition: $125
Instructor: Corinna Sowers-Adler
This class is designed for the adult student, either with or without theatre experience, who is interested in discovering the actor within!  Activities will include theatre and creativity games and exercises to awaken a dormant imagination!  Please come with an open mind and a good sense of humor.  The class will culminate in a family and friends participation day. 
 
Audition Workshop
Ages: 15-Adult 
Schedule: March 8th or April 12th, Saturday 1:00 to 3:00 pm
Tuition: $35 per 2 hour session
Instructor: Corinna Sowers-Adler
This 2-hour workshop is designed to help actors and/or theatre students who are preparing for professional, community and college level auditions hone their auditioning skills.  Please come prepared with a monologue and song (if interested in musical theatre).  A mock audition will ensue followed by helpful critique of material chosen and performance of the material.  A discussion of audition etiquette will also be part of the experience.
