Tony Morris --
Poet, Editor. Tony Morris is an Assistant Professor of Creative Writing and Journalism at Armstrong-Atlantic State University, in Savannah, GA. His most recent book of poems, BACK TO CAIN, was published in 2005 by The Olive Press, and his chapbook, FUGUE’S END, was published in 2004 by Birch Brook Press. His past awards include: the 2004 Mary Belle Campbell Poetry Book Publication Award, the 2003 Tennessee Writers Alliance Poetry Contest, nominations for both the 2003 and 2004 Pushcart Prize, a 2003 Tennessee William’s Poetry Scholarship Recipient, and a finalist in the 2002 Kathryn A. Morton Prize in Poetry. His poems have appeared in over fifty journals, including: THE SPOON RIVER POETRY REVIEW, SOUTHERN POETRY REVIEW, RIVER STYX, PUERO DEL SOL, NIMROD, SOUTH CAROLINA REVIEW, MERIDIAN, POTOMAC REVIEW, CONNECTICUT REVIEW, SOUTH DAKOTA REVIEW and many others. Morris currently serves as president of the Poetry Society of Georgia, is the Poetry Chair of The Savannah Book Festival, and the managing editor of SOUTHERN POETRY REVIEW.
