John Bowers -- Biographer, Editor, Fiction Writer.  Raised in Johnson City, Tennessee, John Bowers has lived in New York since 1962. He has published seven books, beginning with the critically acclaimed THE COLONY (E.P. Dutton and recently republished by IUniverse.com.) It was followed by NO MORE REUNIONS (E.P.Dutton), THE GOLDEN BOWERS (a collection of articles, Tower), HELENE (Ballantine), IN THE LAND OF NYX, NIGHT AND ITS INHABITANT (Doubleday), STONEWALL JACKSON: PORTRAIT OF A SOLDIER(Morrow), and CHICKAMAUGA and CHATTANOOGA: THE BATTLES THAT DOOMED THE CONFEDERCY (Harper/Collins.) His latest novel, LOVE IN TENNESSEE, will be published by Red Hen Press in fall, 2009. He is nearing completion of LIVE GIRLS DANCING, a contemporary thriller. Bowers has been published in over 200 magazines, including the NEW YORK TIMES, PLAYBOY, SPORTS ILLUSTRATED, NEW YORK, COSMOPOLITAN and HARPERS. He has been a magazine editor and has helped start a few magazines. For over two decades he has been an Associate Professor in the Writing Program at 
Columbia University. His play, REMEMBRANCE OF THINGS PRESENT, has been produced twice Off-Broadway.
