INTERNSHIP | 6 Credits
To be eligible for principal certification and to complete the MS degree requirements, students must complete
ED 592 Administrative Internship & Applied Research Project.
The Internship is composed of two semesters, 3 credits each, and requires on-site work with a practicing principal at both levels of certification: elementary and secondary. The applied research project is to be designed in collaboration with the practicing mentor principal and course instructor. It is to meet the needs of the candidate and school where the internship is being completed. PDE Standards for Principals' performance competencies require participation in authentic simulations and field experiences, achieved by logging 90 hours per semester outside of class. Candidates do not need to take a leave from their teaching positions in order to complete the internship.
Prerequisites: Completion of the 30 program credits and permission of Program Director
