Contact: Vicki Mayk

Best-selling author and columnist Jonah Goldberg will deliver the Allan P. Kirby Lecture in Free Enterprise and Entrepreneurship on Thursday, Oct. 3 at 7:30 p.m. in the  Dorothy Dickson Darte Center on Wilkes University’s campus. His topic will be “The Tyranny of Clichés.” The event is free and open to the public. A book signing will follow the lecture.

Goldberg’s topic is based on his newest book, The Tyranny of Clichés – How Liberals Cheat in the War of Ideas, which analyzes the arguments espoused today by liberal politicians and how these “clichés” may devastate America.

A prominent political commentator and founding editor of National Review Online, Goldberg is a regular “Fox News All Star” on Special Report with Bret Baier and  apolitical commentator on CNN. He has also appeared on Good Morning America, Nightline, Hardball with Chris Matthews, The Daily Show, NBC Nightly News and many other television and radio programs.

Goldberg writes a weekly column for the Los Angeles Times that also appears regularly in national newspapers such as the Chicago Tribune, Washington Examiner, and Philadelphia Inquirer. His first book, Liberal Fascism: The Secret History of the American Left from Mussolini to the Politics of Meaning, was a New York Times and Amazon bestseller. He is a member of the board of contributors to USA Today. Goldberg has received several awards, including the Lowell Thomas Award and the Conservative Political Action Conference Conservative Journalist of the Year award.

The Allan P. Kirby Center Lecture Series brings leading voices in free enterprise and entrepreneurship to the Wilkes University campus and Northeastern Pennsylvania. The Center hosts two annual lectures. Open to students and the community, these forums give insight into the creative process and drive of the entrepreneur.
