Veteran's Council Self-Defense Class, April 3
In response to the rising number of assaults near campus, the Veterans Council will be hosting a self-defense class on April 3rd at 4:00 PM.
The event will take place next to the John Wilkes Statue in front of the library and, in the case of inclement weather, the event will be moved to the Henry Student Center’s 2nd floor Ballroom. This class is designed to teach attack prevention, self-defense techniques, and the use of pepper spray. The goal of this class is to give Wilkes students, faculty, and family members who choose to attend the opportunity to learn and familiarize themselves with various techniques and tools they can use to protect themselves, as well as to potentially reduce the number of incidents on or near campus in the future. To help this initiative, Student Government's Kris Rivers and Ian Foley have agreed to take part in a live pepper spray demonstration to show students the effects of pepper spray.
To ensure your safety, and to reduce the risk of accidental contamination, we would like to ask that contact lenses not be worn.
