Passing of Alfred S. Groh
It is with sadness that the University announces the passing of Alfred S. Groh ’41, associate professor of English and theatre arts emeritus. Mr. Groh died on Monday, February 4, 2013. His long affiliation with Wilkes began in 1939 when he entered Bucknell University Junior College as a student. After serving in the U.S. Air Force in World War II, Mr. Groh joined the faculty at Wilkes in 1947, where he served until his retirement in 1987.
Mr. Groh is survived by his wife, Jane Lampe Groh, dean of student affairs emerita.
A funeral service will be held for Mr. Groh on Thursday, February 7 at Noon at the Dorothy Dickson Darte Center for the Performing Arts.
