Wilkes-Barre, Pa. (Dec. 18, 2012) – Wilkes University students designed and built websites for local businesses as part of an integrative media class in the fall semester. The class, Principles of Interactivity, allowed students the opportunity to work directly with local businesses to design and implement functioning websites tailored to their needs. Sara Pisarchick, assistant professor of integrative media and art at Wilkes University, says the students had been working on the project since the beginning of November.
Students worked with local businesses such as The Straub Agency Inc., Wyoming; Lakeway Beverage, Lehman; Earth and Wears, Dallas; and more. The project gave these students hands-on experience with communicating with businesses, discussing needs, and implementing a functional website that meets the requirements of the specific business. The sites went live on Dec. 14.
