Dr. Philip Simon, Director of the Wilkes Civic Band and Chamber Orchestra, is pleased to announce that four members of the Wilkes Civic Band have been accepted into the 2012-2013 PA Intercollegiate Band which will rehearse and perform under Col. Alan Bonner, former Director of the United States Air Force Band, at Mansfield University, March 15-17, 2013. Kristen Chorney, flute and piccolo and Carl Stevenson, trombone are in their second year of participation, and Alysha Lopez, baritone saxophone and Jason Klus, clarinet are also accepted into this prestigious group.  The PA Intercollegiate Band is, at 67 years, the longest continuously running college level honor band in the Nation.
