Wilkes-Barre, Pa. (Dec. 5, 2012) – Wilkes University’s chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society, has received a 2012 Chapter Activity Grant. The grant will provide full funding for two activities planned by the chapter for the spring semester. The primary event will be a panel discussion titled, “Is the Sky the Limit?: Campaign Financing in the 2012 Election Cycle and Beyond.” The second activity is the chapter’s annual induction ceremony, which will feature presentations of student research papers.
The national office of Pi Sigma Alpha received over 130 proposals this year, many of which were either rejected or only received partial funding. This is the 12th consecutive year Wilkes University’s chapter received funding from the organization.
