School of Pharmacy Sponsoring 5K Race for Diabetes Association

The Wilkes University Chapter of the American Pharmacists Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) will sponsor a 5K race on Saturday, April 19. Proceeds will go to children in the community who wish to go to diabetes camp.
 
Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the race begins at 10 a.m. on South River Street. Participants will finish on the Wilkes University campus greenway. The deadline for early registration is April 11 and cost is $12. Participants who register on this date are guaranteed a free T-shirt on the day of the race. Late registration will take place up to the day of the race at a cost of $15 per participant. T-shirts for late registrants will be available on a first come first serve basis. Cost to students is $10 at any time of registration.
 
Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in 11 age groups, as well as to the top overall male and female runners and the top overall male and female walkers.
 
Parking will be available on the day of the race at Wilkes University campus lots.

The event is part of Operation Diabetes, a national patient care project initiated by APhA-ASP.
