Founded in 1947, Wilkes University is an independent, nondenominational, four-year college with programs in the arts, sciences and a number of professional fields, as well as a full program of extracurricular activities. It includes the Jay S. Sidhu School of Business and Leadership and Nesbitt School of Pharmacy. Wilkes offers 36 undergraduate majors and 10 graduate programs.
 
Wilkes has about 2,400 full-time undergraduate students from 20 states and eight countries. The small campus sits on 27 acres in downtown Wilkes-Barre and comprises a variety of stately mansions and state-of-art classroom buildings.
 
When you are not studying, make the most of your free time with lots of extracurricular activities. More than 70 student organizations cater to career or leisure interests. Through varsity and intramural sports, concerts, dances and many more activities, you can meet new friends, develop leadership skills and learn American culture.
