PGY1 residencies do not traditionally have a focused area of practice.  There are some residencies in focused practice areas that do not require completion of a PGY1 residency.  They include:
  • Community Care Pharmacy Practice
  • Managed Care Systems
  The areas listed below are primarily available to PGY2 residencies:
  • Critical Care
  • Drug Information
  • Geriatrics
  • Infectious Disease
  • Internal Medicine
  • Management
  • Medical Informatics
  • Nuclear
  • Nutrition Support
  • Pediatrics
  • Pharmacotherapy (may be 2 year program)
  • Primary Care
  • Psychiatry
  • Oncology
