PGY2 residencies provide advanced training in focused patient care areas such as the following:

Drug Information
Geriatrics
Infectious Disease
Internal Medicine
Management
Medical Informatics
Nuclear
Nutrition Support
Pediatrics
Pharmacotherapy (may be 2 year program)
Primary Care
Psychiatry
Oncology
In most cases, you must complete PGY1 residency before going on to a PGY2 residency but there are some exceptions (e.g., in some Community Care Pharmacy Practice or Managed Care System programs).
