This will be the initial implementation of the
“Residential Neighborhood Concept” proposed in the Campus Master Plan.
Work has begun and demolition of the asphalt parking areas and sidewalks behind and around Chesapeake, Delaware, Evans, Pearsall, and Sturdevant Halls is underway. The intent is to expand the green space on campus and develop a more pedestrian-friendly environment. Scope of Work will include:
- recreational areas
- outdoor cooking areas
- event space
- planter and walkways.
The plan is to complete the demolition, grading, and hardscape prior to the beginning of the fall 2006 semester.
Landscaping of the area will be accomplished...
in stages beginning in late fall 2006, the preferred planting time of the year. This will leave the area disturbed for approximately 30-60 days while we finalize the landscape plans.
You can view a site plan of the project for more information.
