Slay Your Way to Prom

Save the date and slay your way to prom in our prom attire fashion show benefit.

The AmeriCorps VISTA, Office of Civic Engagement and Office of Diversity Initiatives invite you to donate and/or model beautiful, gently used prom attire. If you have old dresses, tuxes, suits, pants, or any items you would wear to prom, please feel free to donate it for a wondrous cause.

Donated items will be available after our event at a local Cinderella’s Closet, which provides high-end prom attire to low socio-economic status communities.  If you are interested in being a model and/or donating clothing, please contact Justin Davis, AmeriCorps VISTA (justin.davis@wilkes.edu), or Erica Acosta, Associate Director of Diversity Initiatives (erica.acosta@wilkes.edu). We are looking to collect gently used items (dresses, tuxedos, pants suits, blazers, vests, etc.). Anything you would wear to prom would be welcome. Our goal is to collect 200 outfits.

The benefit is to help parents and families in the community to obtain a formal outfit for a big night, without having to break the bank. We will also be showcasing the talent and beauty of all of our students with a fabulous fashion show, so if you've ever wanted to walk the runway, now's your chance!

The fashion show will be on April 7, 2017 at 6 p.m. in UCOM.
