Opportunity to Engage with Panamanian Educators

Dear Wilkes University community members,

The School Of Education is proud to play a role in again hosting a group of 20 Panamanian Meduca Bilingual educators https://www.facebook.com/WilkesUMeduca/  on our campus, this time for 16 weeks as part of the intensive English as a Foreign Language Teacher training program.

We continuously expand our activities to become more inclusive of the campus members at-large. A great opportunity for integration is through dinner and conversation, a natural cultural experience.

If you are available and interested in hosting two or more students for dinner in your home (and provide transportation) on  Wednesday, September 21st, from 4:30 pm till dinner finishes, please RSVP to janelle.ellsworth@wilkes.edu by Friday, September 16thso that we might solidify our plans.  We will accept the first 10 volunteer hosts (2 guests each) for this event.

Many of the educators in this cohort are in America for the very first time and this is a great opportunity to provide them with an authentic American cultural experience and for you to learn about Panamanian culture.

Thank you so much for engaging in this initiative and demonstrating the collaborative, inclusive, and inspiring community here at Wilkes!

Viva Panama & Go Wilkes!
