Civic Engagement Office Community Based Learning Survey
The Civic Engagement Office invites your participation in a series of surveys designed to enhance documentation of civic engagement activity. This is particularly important at this time, as Wilkes University will be applying for a Carnegie Community Engagement Classification. Applying for this elective, yet distinctive classification requires the collection of significant evidence of the institution’s impact on the surrounding community. It is important to note that this classification is separate from the Carnegie Classification Dr. Leahy mentioned at Convocation.
The first survey of the series focuses on Community Based Learning (CBL). CBL is a new term for Service-Learning. It is an instructional approach focused on elevating traditional course-based learning by connecting it more directly with community needs. CBL-focused courses can lead to powerful transformation in the community, through students and faculty.
Please note that your responses collected through this survey will be used for research purposes only, and will be kept, confidentially, in the Civic Engagement Office. None of your specific information collected through the survey will shared without your explicit permission.
