Heroin Hits Home

On Thursday, November 17 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm in BREIS 107, the Sociology/Criminology club will be bringing Lackawanna County District Attorney Shane Scanlon to campus to speak. He will be speaking about his community initiative "Heroin Hits Home" program.

This program was started by the District Attorney's Office to help combat the major heroin epidemic which is taking over our area. Pennsylvania leads the nation in drug overdose deaths in young adult males. This problem impacts so many people in our area, as well as our Wilkes University community.

District Attorney Scanlon will be talking about law enforcement outlooks, good Samaritan laws, treatment options, addiction, overdose reversal drugs, drug disposals, and how we all can help fight this battle of drug addiction. This problem directly affects a variety of majors/minors that Wilkes offers so everyone is invited to come!
