Professor Dr. Vijay K. Arora, a professor of Electrical Engineering and UTM Distinguished Visiting Professor has been given an offer of Honorary Professorship at Amity University in India. The Amity Group of Educational Institutions has already established 8 universities and a number of Higher Educational Institutions and Schools at several campuses in India and abroad in London, California, New Jersey, Singapore, Dubai, Mauritius, China, Romania, and South Africa.
In offering this Honorary Professorship to Professor Arora, Amity University recognizes the strength of engineering education at Wilkes University and has great appreciation of Prof. Arora’s vast experiences and in-depth knowledge in engineering and physics, recognizing his distinguished appointments at the notable universities like the University of Illinois, the University of Tokyo, National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University and many others. Amity recognizes the immense potential that Professor Arora possesses by his distinguished lectures in chapters around the world of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, Electron Devices Society (IEEE-EDS). He is also Vice-Chair of IEEE’s Regions 1-3 comprising Eastern Corridor of the United States and Canada. Amity acknowledges the research accomplishments of Professor Arora in his 250+ publications on scientific, educational, and managerial issues, notably the Washington Accord and in being Leading Educator of the World by the International Biographical Society of Cambridge (United Kingdom). He assisted four countries-Singapore, Malaysia, India and Sri Lanka in being admitted to the Washington Accord. The Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) which accredits Wilkes Engineering Programs is a founding member of the Washington Accord.
