Are you looking for a paid educational experience that will make a difference? The Luzerne County SHINE After-School Program will expose you to the most innovative strategies in STEAM (Science,Technology, Education, Arts and Mathematics) and the skills needed to be more competitive in the
current job market.The Luzerne County SHINE Program provides academic enrichment for students from kindergarten through senior high school.

The college teacher assistant position is 12 hours a week, $9.00 per hour and operates Monday through Thursday, approximately 3:15 p.m. – 6:15 p.m. throughout the school year. SHINE teacher assistants will also have opportunities for monthly professional development on STEAM,
emerging technology and a connection to local business/industry.

Teacher Assistants are responsible for their own transportation and for all mandated clearances.The elementary after-school centers are located at the Heights Murray Elementary School in Wilkes-Barre, Nanticoke Elementary Center in Nanticoke, State Street in Larksville , Wyoming Valley West and Maple Manor in Hazleton. Middle School STEM Career Academies take place at the Wilkes-Barre Career and Technical School (CTC), West Side Career CTC and the Hazleton CTC.
