Flu

We have a confirmed case of flu on the Wilkes campus.  It is an off campus student and instructions have been given as to how to handle the diagnosis.

It is very important to wash your hands frequently with soap and water or hand sanitizer spray. Cover your nose and mouth when you cough or sneeze and then discard tissues in the trash.  Avoid being around people that are sick and also avoid sharing drinks, cigarettes etc. with others.

The symptoms of the flu are as follows:
high fever
dry cough
body aches
headache
chills
fatigue

If you have not received the flu shot, it is not too late to get one.  We have a limited number at the Health and Wellness Center, Passan Hall, 1st floor at a cost of $20.00. They are also available at most pharmacies through your insurance and the Wilkes-Barre Department of Health, 71 North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre PA, free of charge 570- 208-4283.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call us at the Health and Wellness Services at 570-408-4730.  For more information go to FLU.gov or on Wilkes portal at http://wilkes.edu/pages/3338.asp
