Allan P. Kirby Center for Free Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Second Annual Showcase
Members of the University community interested in learning how they can receive help developing their business ideas are invited to attend The Allan P. Kirby Center for Free Enterprise and Entrepreneurship’s second annual showcase on Thursday, April 14. Held from 4 to 7 p.m. in the University Center on Main, 169 S. Main St., the showcase will allow attendees to meet entrepreneurs working with the Kirby Center and community partners supporting the center’s activities. Information about services and opportunities for businesses associated with the Kirby Center also will be available. Faculty, staff and students are welcome to attend. A formal program will be held at 5 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
The Allan P. Kirby Center enables Wilkes University students, faculty, staff, and community members to create a strategy to fully commercialize their business ideas and establish independent businesses that will enhance the entrepreneurial climate of Wilkes University and northeast Pennsylvania including specific efforts to support the redevelopment of downtown Wilkes-Barre.
The center is committed to teaching the nature of free enterprise, value creation, and entrepreneurship through curricular and experience-based activities. Services are offered in the following areas:
