May 23, 2016 | Today@wilkes

Hello! If you are a women who loves shoes (like I do) I know you have an extra pair of basic pumps or flats in the back of your closet. Maybe the toe has a scuff or a heel is chewed up. That pair of shoes may no longer be your first choice to wear to a social event or to work, but it may be the only pair of shoes for a homeless woman to wear at a job interview. Please support Ruth's Place shelter for battered and homeless women by donating your black, tan or nude closed toe pumps or flats to Flourish, a program helping women in need. How can you help? Bring items listed in this post to campus on the second Friday of each month. Email or call me (Dr. Sara Moore) by the second Wednesday of that week to arrange pick-up. Flourish members will come to you to collect the donations - It's super easy! Flourish is also accepting belts, costume/fashion jewelry and hand bags. Various colors and sizes are needed. Tax deduction receipts can be obtained. Arrange a pick-up: Leave a message with your campus location and preferred pick up time: 570.408.4484 or email: Sara.moore@wilkes.edu Learn more about Flourish: Facebook: www.facebook.com/flourishwilkesbarre Web: http://www.flourishwilkesbarre.org
