Canine Cadet: Det 752 Pioneers New Program

Affectionately known as “Libby”, this Wirehaired Pointing Griffon is blazing new trails on campus. Libby exemplifies the Air Force Core Value of “Service Before Self”. Her mission is to provide emotional support as a Psychological Service Dog in training this year. Psychological Service Dogs prove helpful by improving social, emotional and cognitive functioning for those encountering their behavior. As evidenced by the positive interactions during her first two weeks at Wilkes University, Libby hasn’t met a face she can’t put a smile on yet!

Libby’s sphere of influence extends from the USAF Cadre members, AFROTC Cadet Corps, veteran students, faculty and the general student population at Wilkes University. The ultimate goal is for Libby to be an extension of student services, be a leader in resiliency and positive mental attitude, and an outlet for the Wilkes Community throughout the year.

Please join us on the Greenway at Noon today to meet Libby and learn more about this program. For further information, feel free to contact Lt Col John “Slick” Baum at john.baum@wilkes.edu.
