Title IX Coordinator
Dear faculty and staff,
It is my pleasure to announce that Samantha Phillips is joining Wilkes University on November 30 as our Title IX Coordinator.
Samantha will work with others across the University to develop, implement, and monitor campus-wide efforts to comply with Title IX legislation. She will offer guidance and best practices and serve as a central resource for all campus constituencies on Title IX related issues. She will also be responsible for enhancing our ongoing training and education on Title IX and sex discrimination to students, staff, and faculty as well as providing oversight on prevention education efforts.
Samantha has most recently worked as an attorney for the Nagy law firm in Wyomissing, PA after having been the law clerk for the Honorable Steven T. O’Neill in the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas and the Honorable Timothy S. Searer in the Mifflin County Court of Common Pleas. Samantha has a BA in Communications from West Chester University and a Juris Doctorate from Ohio Northern University.
I would like to thank the search committee who helped bring forward three outstanding candidates for the campus to consider. The committee members were Dr. Mischelle B. Anthony, Associate Professor / English Dept. Chair; Dr. Phillip J. Ruthkosky, Associate Dean of Student Development; Mrs. Kristin M. Patarra, Human Resources Manager; and Mr. Justin Kraynack, Chief Risk and Compliance Officer who so effectively chaired the committee.
