Gateway Project Update
The brick walkway between South Main St. and South Franklin St. will open to pedestrian traffic on Tuesday, August 4.
The sidewalks in front of 141 South Main St. and UCOM will reopen on Tuesday, August 4. Work on the exterior of 141 S. Main St. will continue for an additional week. Please use caution while walking in this area.
Sordoni Construction will switch the closed lane on Franklin Street on Tuesday, August 4 to install the other half of the raised crosswalk.
South Main St. in the area of the walkway will be closed in both directions beginning Wednesday, August 5 for approximately 15 days for the installation of the raised crosswalk. The parking garage will be accessible to southbound traffic only.
The 141 South Main St. parking lot will be closed beginning Wednesday, August 5 for approximately 6 days. Students, faculty and staff who routinely use this lot may park in the UCOM or Barnum lots or the parking garage. During this time, the parking garage gate will be open to accommodate campus visitors with business in nearby buildings. The parking garage will be accessible to southbound traffic only.
Although work will continue on some features including piers, fencing and traffic signals, the Gateway project is nearing completion. Thanks to all for your patience during this significant campus renovation. Please mark your calendars for the dedication during Homecoming weekend, October 2-4.
