South Main Street Closing Aug. 10, New Access To Wilkes Parking Garage

South Main Street will be closed between Northampton and South streets beginning Monday, Aug. 10 for construction of a raised pedestrian crosswalk in front of the University Center on Main. The street will remain closed for about two weeks. This work is part of the Campus Gateway Project, which is bringing significant improvements to South Main Street and the Wilkes campus.

During the time that South Main Street is closed, University faculty, staff and visitors should enter the parking garage via South Street and Nesbitt Lane, the street that runs behind the University Towers. This is the street where traffic leaving the parking garage now exits. Please look for signs such as the one attached directing you to temporary entrance. For the duration of the South Main Street closing, traffic will enter the garage via Nesbitt Lane. Please enter via South Street to access the temporary entrance.
